The Urban Pesticides Committee (UPC)

The Urban Pesticides Committee (UPC) addresses a broad range of issues related to pesticides and water quality. In addition to being an information clearinghouse, the Urban Pesticides Committee serves as a forum for coordinating TMDL implementation.

2009 Urban Pesticides Committee meetings will be held in a new location: Room 171 of the MetroCenter, 101-8th Street, Oakland. (Directions/Parking Info) A teleconference line is provided for those unable to participate in person. The teleconference number for all 2009 meetings is (916) 255-4044.

Bond Freeze Update June 2009: The UP3 Project activities were suspended by California's bond freeze from December 18, 2008 and the freeze is ongoing. The project restarted in April 2009 to a limited extent. Thanks to support from several key stakeholders, we have been able to raise enough funds to provide very limited operations through July 2009. Additional emergency funding is being sought to hold UPC meetings after July 2009. To assist, please contact Athena Honore, UP3 Project Manager, at up3@waterboards.ca.gov.
